Mumbai rains is getting much needed importance as the whole of Maharashtra is reeling under severe water shortage. Despite the rain readiness of the BMC, the Corporation was taken by surprise as the pre-monsoon rains made the life miserable for the people of Metro. As the local train tracks were submerged with water, train services were disrupted. Most of the local rail routes running through low lying areas submerged with water. However, the showers brought respite from the sweltering heat. Anyway, 36.6 mm rain is good to start with. Monsoon rains missed the date and there was slight delay but it was good sign to start with and within 72 hours the cloud burst was there and we hope that the 106% rains predicted will ease out the water problems in and around the city.
