Royal challengers in doldrums

Even as the financial noose is tightening on the neck of the King of Bad Times Vijay Mallya, a deep shadow has been cast over the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the Indian Premiere League for which Virat Kohli, India’s test captain is the mainstay and now the brand is orphaned by the sudden disappearance of its mentor. Even though baron King had transferred the team to his son Siddharth, the King Fisher logos and other accessories have been pledged to various creditors. The creditors are bound to stake claim on the brand and this would put the IPL franchise in the dock. There is a strong feeling that the team would either be debarred or transferred to the consortium of Banks, provided they can prove that they have a legal stake. In anyway, the Royal Challengers are paupers and orphaned. IPL is facing stiff challenges in recent times and this one more shock to the organisers, who were dreaming of the cash cow to bring in more and more money in the name of the game.
