There should be ‘zero balance’ facility to all the senior citizens on their savings accounts with all the nationalised banks, cooperative banks and also private banks like ICICI and Axis Bank. All the banks earn sufficiently through big EMIs from the car and home loan borrowers, as well as from their current account holders. There should be such pro-senior citizen provision in the coming general budget due on February 29. By the way, the famous ‘Chanakya Neeti’ says that minimum taxes fetch maximum revenues to the government, which in turn also reduces corruption to a great extent.
