mariRevealing details regarding the sensational murder of Indrani Mukherjea’s daughter, Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said on Wednesday that Sheena Bora’s was strangulated and her body was burnt with petrol.
Maria said, “Indrani Mukherjea’s daughter was strangled to death on 24 April, 2012. Her body was burnt with petrol.”
Further throwing light on the case he added, “Indrani’s former husband Sanjeev Khanna is an accused in Sheena murder case. During investigation Sanjeev confessed to his involvement in murder. We took him to the spot in Raigad.”
The Mumbai top cop also said that former Star India CEO Peter Mukherjea’s wife had confessed that Sheena was her daughter and that inquiries with the local police at Raigad confirmed driver Shyamvar Rai’s (43)confession.
Total three arrest had been made in the case, he said.
Indrani along with Khanna (50) and Rai (43) allegedly killed Sheena by strangulating her in a car on April 24, 2012 in Mumbai and then drove to Raigad where they disposed the body.
Rai was taken to the spot where they dumped Sheena’s body.
Sheena’s skeletal body was reportedly found on May 23, 2012 by the local police but no case of missing had been registered anywhere.
“There was no missing complaint registered. The case was registered on August 21 after Rai’s arrest for possession of arms illegally,” Maria said.
