Simmons unstoppable as West Indies wins a thriller!

Luck favours the brave but not always as India won against Bangladesh from the brink of defeat and lost to the West Indies in the semi-finals from a position of victory after sending Chris Gayle early into the pavilion to the shock of the home crowds. T-20 cricket is all about who plays well on a given day as nobody expected West Indies to trounce India after their shock defeat to Afghanistan in their previous game but cricket is unpredictable and can be a great leveller of fortunes when it comes to luck and talent.

India batted brilliantly at the Wankhede Stadium with Virat Kohli coming good once again with an extra-ordinary innings of 89 not out but the day belonged to Simmons who was unstoppable with a match winning unbeaten 82 of 51 deliveries. It was a flat batting pitch where bowlers were always going to struggle but clearly no excuses for the ‘No Balls’ delivered by our bowlers ( which even fetched them wickets) which cost India the game. Winning and losing though is part and parcel of cricket as spectators enjoyed the high scoring game which went to the wire and West Indies clearly deserved to win as they kept the momentum going inspite of losing their match winner early. Congratulations to the winners!
