Netizens say Sonu should not make comparisons between a goddess and Radhe Maa as there is a huge difference between both of them.
Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has landed himself in trouble after he supported controversial godwoman Radhe Maa by comparing her with Goddess Kali. A complaint has been filed against singer Sonu at the Samta Nagar Police Station, by ​Ramesh Joshi, chairman of Dharma Rakshak Mahamanch for allegedly insulting Goddess Kali by comparing her to Radhe Maa. Police has registered his complaint under sections 295 (A) and 298 of IPC.  Ever since Radhe Maa started grabbing headlines some of her devotees have distanced themselves from her while some others are defending her. Sonu Nigam called out the blatant sexism in the treatment meted out to Radhe Maa. He wrote on Twitter why there were different rules for men and women when it came to godwomen. The singer has also advised the authorities not to sue godmen or godwomen but the followers who accord them the status of gods or goddesses.

Sonu Nigam received flak from netizens for tweeting in support of Radhe Maa. According to them, Sonu should not make comparisons between a goddess and Radhe Maa as there is a huge difference between both of them.
“It’s very shameful all this time Sonu was seeing goddess as a naked women, and what’s more shameful is man like Sonu cannot resist naked woman.” said Sameer Deshmukh a Kandivali resident.
“Sonu, the concept of Kaali Maa has deep spiritual and tantrik significance to devout Hindus. Please, therefore, do not belittle” said Roshan Seth, a Borivali resident.
“It sheer nonsense to compare a living human entity to God. I think the film industry has become insane and lost common sense. Sonu should refrain from posting irresponsible comments online” Vishal Rode, a Malad resident.
Radhe Maa has been accused of obscenity. She is also apparently facing charges of being involved in instigating several people to commit suicide. From wearing skimpy clothes to hugging and kissing her followers, Radhe Ma, has umpteen charges levelled against her.
Earlier, giving major relief to Radhe Maa, the Bombay High Court on Friday granted her interim anticipatory bail for two weeks in dowry case. The case was filed by 32 year old woman Nikki Gupta who accused Radhe Maa of instigating her in-laws to torture her for dowry.
