Nita Ambani’s nomination to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) comes as a surprise. Her only qualification being she is the wife of billionaire Mukesh Ambani who is the richest man of India apart from being one of the wealthiest in the globe. Sportsman deserves to be given such recognition in the field of sports and PT Usha would have been a better choice than Nita Ambani for the job and honour.
Nita has been doing good work in the field of education and sports and perhaps given that honour for her money as the nominated member ultimately has to get elected at the IOC session which means ‘money bolta hai’ (money can get anything done) and that is degrading and demoting sports. Sports is all about fairness and spirit and getting a non-sportsman elected is against the spirit of play. God save Indian sports from dirty politics which is one of the reason why our country does not win many medals at the games inspite of being the most populated nation in the world.
