Team India tame Bangladesh

The much expected pulsating final turned out to be one sided as the T-20 final of the Asia Cup was restricted to 15 overs a side after windy rains delayed the start of the game. India after winning the toss promptly put the opposition into bat and made short work of the top order of the Bangladesh side. But for a brief period of dominance by Sabbir Rahman and Mehmudullah, Team India bowlers did make an impact against a side having an underdog tag in the tournament with restrictive spell of bowling.  S. Sarkar started in a belligerent way and an opening stand of 27 turned to 75 for 5 and the tie turned out to be a one sided one despite an unbeaten stand of 45 for the sixth wicket. Both Ashwin and Bumrah bowled economically to torment the batsmen of Bangladesh from the first over. Sarkar started with his cameo scoring 14 runs with three boundaries against the bowling of Ashish Nehra but perished before the end of the over.  Again, in bowling also, the vital and crucial 14th over was given to Al-Amin, an inexperienced hand and that brought an early end to the match. For India, it was left hander Dhawan (60) keeping company to Kohli and saw to it that the match is over without any fuss. With 8 wickets in hand, Dhoni saw to it that his vast experience came handy against an apprentice bowler in striking the winning shot and the sixth Asia Cup for Team India. Congratulations to Dhoni’s side.
