
Maharashtra Telugu Manch (MTM) Group organised an event called “Time to pay back to the Society” a fundraising campaign for Anand Nilayam Senior Citizen Home, a non-profit organization to serve senior citizens. Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami Ji graced the occasion as Chief guest and blessed over 3000 members of the Telugu community.
Cabinet Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha also attended the event. Over 50 different organizations supported this particular event. Dr P V Ramana of ITM Educational group, the chief advisor, spoke about the project as a social entrepreneurship model and assured all support. President of MTM and Chief Promoter Sri Jaganbabu Ganji briefed project details and requested help from all as its time to pay back to the society.
Jaganbabu Ganji told Afternoon Voice, “This is a pilot project for senior homes. We are planning to raise huge funds so that we can do something for the senior citizens of the nation.” He further stated that “each one of us has a duty to pay back to society, and I have started this venture to do so.”
While speaking at the event, Chinna Jeeyar Swami emphasised the need to protect all resources – food, water, earth, air, forests and other animals- for long-term sustainability. Senior citizens need to be taken care of by their families, however, unavoidable situations, such as a senior’s home are an important aspect. Swamiji announced the donation of Rs 5 Lacs towards the Anand Nilayam Senior Citizen Home project construction.
Swaramadhuri Sangeeth Sanstha, Mumbai based music group entertained music lovers with devotional and SP Balasubramanyam songs. The program was conducted by S V R Murty, Vice President of Cultural and volunteers led by Jaganbabu Ganji.
