Kudos to Indian Women’s hockey team for beating China to win the Champions Trophy in Singapore. Proud moment indeed as our country proved their supremacy in both men and women’s event in Asian hockey which truly is an incredible achievement. Indians taught the world to play hockey but we dropped bottom down the list over the years when hockey rules were changed to make the game fast and competitive with more emphasises on power than on artistic hockey. But we are fast learning the new tricks of the game and it is great to prove our supremacy in Asian hockey by winning the Champions Trophy in both men and women hockey. We can only get better from here and our country should regain our world champions tag in the years to come with some help from the government who should provide financial assistance as well as infrastructure like top class astro turfs to prepare ourselves towards achieving that goal!
