A slab of Hare Ram Hare Krishna, a 30 year old building located in Bhayander collapsed due to heavy rain on Thursday night. No any major casualties have been reported.
The Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation had failed to declare the building as dangerous. Residents of the building were aware that it was uninhabitable but they continued to reside there due to lack of alternate accommodation. After the collapse of the structure residents alerted civic officials and fire brigade department.
A resident of the Hare Ram Hare Krishna building spoke on the condition of anonymity and said, “Initially, the fourth floor collapsed followed by the other floors. It’s a huge relief that nobody sustained serious injuries.”
