Acting on the information that a gang of robbers would target Babu Bhai petrol pump, a trap was laid last evening. The patrolling beat Constables spotted the gang members who came in a taxi and two motorcycles, police said.
They were intercepted and on body search they were found in possession of three knives, ropes and chilly powder, said Sub-Inspector D H Badhane of Rabodi Police Station.
Those arrested were identified as Abhishek Singh (21), Raj Jaiswal, (19), Deepak Jha (20), Vinod Yadav (21), all residents of Ulhasnagar, and Mohammad Ansari (25) of Mumbra. They all are employed in odd jobs, he said.
“A few of them have been found to be linked to some cheating cases. Further investigations are on to find if they were involved in more criminal cases,” an official said.
