Four persons loot a car in Kandivali, decamp with 8.75 lakhs

City_RobberyFour unidentified men robbed a motorist of Rs 8.75 lakh after blocking his car in Kandivli (west) on Thursday morning.

The motorist Jiten Gangar, 35, was travelling in his Maruti Swift accompanied by a guard. The duo was on their way to deposit the cash amounting to Rs.8.75 lakh of the oil company in which they are employed. When they reached near Mahatma Gandhi road, a white-coloured Maruti Esteem blocked their path at around 9.30 am.

Further M Pandharmise, Senior Inspector from Kandivali Police Station informed, “After blocking the car, two men alighted from the Esteem and two other men joined them. The group of four people smashed window panes of the Swift car with a hockey stick. After threatening the employees at knife point they fled with all the cash which was kept inside the car.”

A case has been registered against the unidentified accused under section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in a robbery) of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of the Arms Act.
