In a jolt to actor Preity Zinta in her case filed against businessman Ness Wadia, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Indian Premier League Sundar Raman has denied being present at the Bangalore auction. Preity had claimed that Sundar Raman intervened after she had an altercation with Wadia at the auction.

“I was not present at the Bangalore auction. I did not even know about the tiff till media reported. I have no role at all,” the IPL COO said.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has asked the King XI Punjab COO Frazer Castelino also to record his statement in the case. According to sources, police have asked Zinta’s lawyer to call the actress and record her statement as well. She has been asked to appear in person and record her statement in the next one week.

Police will also examine the CCTV footage from 5 cameras located in the stadium where the alleged altercation took place. They are also likely to examine Preity’s email exchanges with Ness Wadia to ascertain whether they had any heated exchanges in the past.

“We wrote a letter addressed to Preity Zinta and handed it over to her lawyer Hitesh Jain asking the actress to be present before us within three days or latest by this weekend,” an IPS officer privy to the investigation said. “We have learnt that Zinta is not in India and hence, we gave the letter to her lawyer,” he said.

The officer said Zinta’s detailed statement was required “at this juncture” as several queries needed to be answered before proceeding further. He said the investigators wanted to ask the actress about the exact place where the alleged incident took place and who were around.
