A 30-year-old tribal from Khamgaon village in Shahapur taluka of the district was beaten to death by another villager following a argument over a minor issue, police said on Monday.
The victim, Balkrishna K Chowdhari, who had been attacked on June 8, died at a hospital here three days back, API Pravin Kolhe of the Khinavali police station said.
Chowdhari had been attacked by Malu Pandurang wagh, 35, with bamboo stick and iron rod after an argument broke out between the two over some minor issue, police said.
The victim, who received severe injuries in the attack, was rushed to Khinvali public health centre and was finally admitted to Thane Civil Hospital, where the victim died on June 13, police said.
Based on a complaint by the victims wife the police registered an offence under section 302 against the accused on Sunday evening and have launched a manhunt for the accused the police added.
Further investigation into the case is on.
