Two dead, six injured in wall collapse incidents

city_bhayanderWall collapse incident has been reported in Tardeo and Bhayander leading to death of two persons and injuring six persons. In the first incident, two persons were killed when a compound wall of an open plot collapsed following incessant rains at Tardeo in south Mumbai.

An official from the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) said
“A compound wall on Ratan Tata road near Parsi colony in Tardeo area collapsed in which two persons were killed. The deceased were in the age group of 25-35 years,”

Fire brigade team rushed to the spot and pulled out another person from the debris who sustained grievous injuries and is being treated at Nair hospital.

In another incident, the gallery of third floor of Kashinath Smriti building collapsed yesterday morning in Bhayander (E). One man sustained severe injury, where as three autorickshaws were damaged.

The victim Dwarkaprasad Pandey was standing near a pan stall as the debris of the gallery collapsed on him. He was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital and is being recuperating there.

A local Shiv Sena corporater said, “Such incidents are occurring due to the lackadaisical attitude of the BMC.”

In last two days more than five incidents of wall collapsed have been reported in the city and its adjoining areas in which more than seven deaths was reported and more than 14 suffered critical injuries.
