Woman-rapedA 29-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man at gun-point near Bhayandar railway station in Thane district, police said on Sunday.

At least two persons were involved in the crime that took place on May 30 at a place opposite an ATM near the Bhayandar railway station between 2.30 pm and 5 pm, said sub-inspector Aparna Whatkar of Navghar police station.
The two men had called the girl on the pretext of giving her a job. Police claim that the girl was raped inside a car. She had completed a course in event management and was looking for a job.

The complainant has told the police that the two men had given her an appointment at 2 pm on May 30.
When she arrived at the station, the accused were waiting for her in a car. However when she got into the car, one of the men allegedly held a gun to her head while the other man allegedly raped her.

The girl’s statement has been recorded and a case has been registered. No arrests have been made so far.
The woman had named one Deepak (full name not known) and another unidentified man in her complaint, police said.

The unidentified person put the revolver on the woman’s head while Deepak allegedly raped her, they said.

However, police did not elaborate on whether the two were known to the woman or they had waylaid her.

A search is on for the two accused, they said.

A case was been registered at DN Nagar where the complainant resides and later transferred to Navghar Police station under which the area of crime falls.

After a medical examination of the woman, a case was registered against the duo under sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural offences), 506(2) rw 34 and also under sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.
