UP: Doon Express train gets derailed near Ambedkar Nagar, eight injured

As many as eight people were injured when eight bogies of a passenger train derailed near Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh on Monday afternoon. According to sources, the number of the injured is likely to rise.

The eight coaches of the Howrah-Dehradun Doon Express included six sleeper coaches and two general bogies. The incident happened around 2.42 pm near Jafarganj railway station between Jaunpur and Faizabad.

Of the eight coaches, two coaches had reportedly capsized.

Sources say the DRM, Lucknow has been sent to the spot. A team of railway officials from Delhi too has left for the spot. The incident has affected traffic on the rail route.
